Welcome to Wandering Off! I’m Sarah Vernetti, a freelance writer, mom, and military spouse who is always on the go.
My family of three loves off-beat adventures. Our daughter has stood face-to-wing with a stealth bomber, posed for photos next to the world’s largest pecan, and explored the Cowboy Capital of the World. She’s met a wallaby (and a sloth and a tarantula), kissed a dolphin, hiked at Big Bend National Park, played in the Death Valley sand dunes, and climbed a 400-foot pink rock. I’m always looking for new and interesting adventures. One of my favorite things to do is get in the car, fire up the GPS, and see where the road takes us.
Although we’re currently exploring our new hometown of Las Vegas, this blog started in San Antonio, Texas. You’ll find lots of information here about our Texas travel adventures. I also write about our family vacations to places like Boston, St. Louis, Hawaii, and elsewhere.
My new obsession is exploring state and national parks since we’re lucky and have so many close by. I also write about kid-friendly Las Vegas activities. I promise, they do exist!
