The Ethel M® Botanical Cactus Garden is the largest garden of its kind in Nevada and features over 300 different plant species. Take a look at what we saw during our visit:
I tried something different this time and used Aviary to edit my photos. What do you think? I found Aviary to be very easy to use, and I look forward to experimenting with it more in the future.

I know nothing about photo editing, so short of the fact that your pictures look great, I can’t offer any opinions for you. Sorry.
Love the Ethel M gardens, especially at Christmas time. You did go into the store for your free sample of chocolate though right?
We didn’t go into the store on this visit because we were there on Easter and my daughter had already had a ridiculous amount of sugar! We’ll definitely go back though…I’d love to do the factory tour.
Adding this spot to our list of things to see next time we’re in town. Gorgeous pictures!
Thank you, Debi! Yes, you all would enjoy it. Great place for picture-taking.
Haven’t made it Ethel M yet. Love the photos! They’re crisp and sharp! Great job!
Thank you! I really like Aviary…even the simple “enhance” feature makes the pictures look better.
Your post reminded me of my surprise at how rich the desert is, and how fun it was to visit a botanical garden / zoo in Tucson, Arizona. Great photos!
I know what you mean! I love desert plants…I think they’re so fascinating…they’re like the underdogs of the plant world, overcoming all of the harsh conditions.
Great photos, Sarah! Is the botanical garden far from Las Vegas?
Thank you! The garden is on the grounds of a chocolate factory (!) and is located south of downtown, and east of McCarron airport.
great photos, sarah
LOVE the third one down… are those cacti? …dead?
Yes, Kim! Those are saguaro “skeletons” that remain after the cactus has died. Crazy, huh?
