I’m a big fan of bringing my daughter on most of my adventures: culinary, outdoors, or otherwise. However, there are some times when it’s best to leave the little gal at home.
For instance, when you have a chance to enjoy a date with your husband at Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak, you TAKE IT.
I feel like I’m not even qualified to talk about the food. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Take a look:
I ordered the sea scallops with shaved fennel and it was incredible. I liked that the scallops were not overcooked…they were nice and tender, and not at all gritty.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. We started with the prosciutto appetizer. I’m pretty sure prosciutto is the only thing on earth that’s better than bacon (and that’s saying a lot.) It was served with thin, salty bread sticks and mission fig.
Along with my scallops and my husband’s braised shortribs, we ordered two sides: fries with smoked paprika and roasted root vegetables.
My mouth is watering just thinking about our meal! I can’t wait to go back…although who knows when the opportunity for a date night will present itself again.

Beautiful! We are lucky to have so many fabulous restaurants in Las Vegas to explore.
MMMM…scallops or shortribs….these are not decisions to be taken lightly. Looks like a great meal. You’ve got a lot of great restaurants to choose from in your new city though.
I’m going to Las Vegas specifically for those sea scallops! YUM.
