What can I say? Another summer, another lackluster performance from our beloved Chicago Cubs.
Last August, Nick and I enjoyed a weekend getaway to Chicago where we ate lots of great food, drank a few beers, and watched a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
Two signs are located on a building across the street from Wrigley Field. Eamus Catuli is Latin for “Let’s go Cubs.” The numbers on the other sign represent the number of years since the Cubs won the division title (00), the National League Championship (63), and the World Series title. (Yep, it’s been over 100 years since the Cubs won it all.) “AC” stands for “after championship.”
Unfortunately, those numbers have all increased by one since last season. And I have a feeling that they’ll go up again at the end of the summer. But I know someday the sign will look like this: AC000000

good eye for seeing this…wondering about the stories behind putting up the signs.
I always get a kick out of stadium/arena/ballpark signs. Thanks for sharing
We love to visit the ballparks around the US but we usually have perfect timing…the teams are usually playing away games!
Thanks for stopping by!Kerry–I'm not sure I would have spotted it, but my life-long Cubbie husband pointed it out to me the first time we went to a Cubs game several years ago.Dominique–Yeah, the area around Wrigley is fantastic. Very lively and authentic!Jen–Yeah, we would love to visit more ballparks. I think I've been to five major league ballparks…we'd love to see all of them at some point, but I imagine the scheduling is difficult.
